Accessibility Statement

Sky Nexus Cyber Operations is committed to making our website accessible to all users, including those with disability. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA and to comply with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) and the Australian Standard AS EN 301 549:2020 (Accessibility requirements for ICT products and services).

Legislative obligations

Our accessibility obligations arise from the following Australian legislation and international standards.

  • Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) — it is unlawful to discriminate on the grounds of disability in access to services, including digital services (s 24)
  • Australian Human Rights Commission Act 1986 — enforcement body for DDA complaints
  • Web Accessibility National Transition Strategy (AGIMO/DTA) — WCAG 2.0 AA as baseline for Australian government and government-supplied services
  • AS EN 301 549:2020 — Australian standard for ICT product and service accessibility
  • WCAG 2.2 Level AA — current W3C standard; extends WCAG 2.1 with additional success criteria
  • UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) — ratified by Australia 2008; Article 9 requires accessible information and communications technology

Current conformance status

We aim to partially conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Known non-conformances are listed below and are being actively remediated.

  • Perceivable — all non-text content has text alternatives; captions provided for video content; colour is not the sole means of conveying information; minimum contrast ratio 4.5:1 for normal text
  • Operable — all functionality is keyboard accessible; no keyboard traps; skip navigation links provided; focus indicators visible on all interactive elements
  • Understandable — page language declared; navigation is consistent; error messages are descriptive and associated with the relevant field
  • Robust — HTML is valid; ARIA landmarks and roles used appropriately; tested with leading screen readers (NVDA 2024, VoiceOver iOS 17, JAWS 2024)

Known limitations and remediation roadmap

We acknowledge the following gaps and are actively working to resolve them.

  • Complex SVG data visualisations (dashboards) — full text equivalents being developed; target: Q3 2025
  • Third-party embedded content (maps, video players) — we are replacing non-accessible embeds with accessible alternatives; target: Q4 2025
  • PDF resource library — older documents being remediated for tagged PDF accessibility; target: rolling, completed by Q1 2026
  • New WCAG 2.2 success criteria (2.4.11 Focus Not Obscured, 2.5.7 Dragging Movements, 3.2.6 Consistent Help) — implementation in progress; target: Q3 2025

Assistive technology testing

We test with the following assistive technologies and browsers on each major release.

  • NVDA 2024 + Chrome (Windows) — primary screen reader test
  • VoiceOver + Safari (macOS and iOS) — Apple ecosystem
  • JAWS 2024 + Edge (Windows) — enterprise screen reader
  • Keyboard-only navigation — Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari
  • Dragon NaturallySpeaking — voice control
  • Windows High Contrast mode
  • 400% zoom (Chrome) — for low-vision users
